Former Manufacturing Facility, Edgefield, South Carolina, Major Oil Company
We are conducting technical analyses in the characterization and remediation of dissolved chlorinated VOCs within a complex hydrologic setting composed of saprolite and fractured bedrock. We have developed a site flow and transport model that has been instrumental in evaluating the effectiveness of the current remedial operations and in the development of proposed remedial actions. We have coordinated efforts with other parties involved with the site activities and interacted with regulatory negotiations.
Former Manufacturing Facility, Newark, New Jersey, Major Oil Company
We are providing technical support in the development of a Remedial Action Work Plan and delineation of a Classification Exemption Area (CEA) for a chlorinated solvent impacted site. The technical analysis involves evaluating the remedial impact of implementing in-situ oxidation treatment (potassium permanganate) on residual TCE within the water-bearing zone. Transport modeling and indoor vapor intrusion calculations were conducted as part of the Remedial Action Work Plan. Prior to the development of the remedial plan, we provided technical support in the characterization of the dissolved plume through mass flux calculations and determination of natural attenuation rates. DNAPL volume and flow calculations conducted by our staff were critical in absolving the client
from involvement in a large off-site DNAPL plume.
LNG Plant, Hennessey, Oklahoma, Major Oil Company
Technical analyses were conducted in evaluating LNAPL and dissolved phase remediation alternatives. The work scope involved LNAPL modeling and remedial optimization planning. Remedial costing was performed to support property divestment.
LNAPL Guide, Major Oil Company
This research work effort by one of our
professional staff resulted in the development of the API Interactive LNAPL Guide, which is a leading informational reference regarding LNAPLs. The scope of the work involved the development and writing of all educational materials, development of reference citations, and management of software development. Training sessions were developed for selective client staff.
Confidential Client, Fruit Cannery
We were contracted to prepare a Remedial Action Plan for a large fruit cannery site in the Sacramento area where six USTs had been removed and Phase I and II Environmental Site Assessments had reported hydrocarbon impact of soil and ground water. We analyzed the results of site data and research, evaluated alternatives for remediation, and conducted an aquifer test to evaluate characteristics of shallow water-bearing strata beneath the site. A soil vapor extraction test was also performed to evaluate the efficiency of vapor extraction in removing petroleum constituents from soil and ground water beneath the site. We recommended a vapor extraction/bioventing system for ground water remediation.
We met with County and RWQCB personnel to determine Remedial Action Plan approval requirements. Following Remedial Action Plan approval, we were selected to continue with site Phase III work, including quarterly monitoring and remediation system design. We designed the remediation system and managed system permitting and installation.
